A little bit closer to Christmas, oh my, I really long for the holidays now. First of all, to put up the electric candlestick and stars in the windows, light the first Advent candle on Sunday. It's pretty dull and grey here now, it has been and still is raining a lot.
Yesterday we went downtown to watch Santa and the Snow Queen opening the Christmas windows display, a long tradition. But the heavy rain made us come a bit too late to see them, but the windows are still there, of course, and that was fun as always to see how the fantasy is in full bloom. But far too many ratlike animals for me, it gives me the creep just to watch them.
Still raining but yet, time for a walk.

Lazy days here?
Oh no, it has been a nice but not too lazy week. We had dear ones visiting from Norway, that was wonderful as usual, some tears when they left, as usual.
But we have also got some now furnitures for the kitchen, two different kind of shelves and also a sideboard, now it's so nice and easy to work in the little area we call kitchen;)
To find the best shelves was a bit hard to do, from store to store. Then we found them in a store very near our home. We went all over town first! I guess we have learned something from that.
Everything is very fine here, I long for Advent, to get the stars and candles ready, it's so nice with all lights during Advent and the holidays.

Bridges, not walls!
Today is a big day to celebrate, the fall of the terrible Berlin Wall 9 November, 1989, is a day I remember well. I have been to DDR back in the days with the wall still standing, when we got the news it was really happy days.
But it was not that easy to adjust to a united Germany, from what I can understand from all the documentaries I've watched during the years after the fall. Freedom never comes easy, especially not after living with that huge wall, like prisoners in their own country, a divided city.

Ragg socks on!
It's getting chilly now, maybe it's Winter around the corner, just what to expect this time of the year. Some parts of Sweden, the North parts, have already snow. I long for snow, I wish it could come now and stay all the time to February, that would be nice;)
Today is laundry day and I think I will not do so much more than just the laundry, I feel a bit tired and maybe I've cached a cold, we'll see. Not so bad but bad enough to stay indoors and rest.
And I love my ragg socks, knitted for me by a very dear friend. I wish I could knit myself but my hands sais no, no.

It's hard...
...to get used to our new coach, it's hard. I mean, it's harder than our old coach. It takes time, I know, the old one was softer but also harder to rise from, not the best for the body, at least not mine. Well, we really must wait a while before we are familiar with this one.
It's holiday weekend here, the time of the year when we light candles for our lost dear ones. It's also Halloween but here in Sweden it's not so common to celebrate Halloween, we sure don't, Richard and I.
